Learn how to surf.
That's been one of my husband's 'bucket list' items since way before our surfing misadventures in Guatemala.
He had a chance for lessons while we were staying at the beach in Las Peñitas... not tons of practice, but enough to keep the flame from going out. 😉
Greg usually went out by himself for a couple of hours, but we were going to be leaving Nica soon, headed to Costa Rica to have our baby, so he made arrangements with the guys at Pelikan Surf for board rentals for the kids one day. (If you go to Las Peñitas, make sure to check them out and tell them Greg sent you!)
- Make sure to visit Pelikan Surf!
- My surfer boys
- The beach side view of the surf shop.
- Daddy taught a few ‘popup’ lessons to the kids in the sand first.
- The pregnant lady (me), and Atlas watched from shore. Atlas entertained himself with his ‘cape’.
Then they set off to catch some waves... for the first time!
They did pretty well for their first time... at least the proud mommy thought so!
- They did pretty well for their first time… at least that’s what the proud mommy thought. 😉
And they absolutely loved it (you can tell by the way Kimball is so excited in the video) ... I think surfing has been added to the 'must learn' list.
Of course we have to cover ourselves with mud first...
- I’m pretending I’m pregnant like mommy…
- I’ve some sort of hybrid reptilian humanoid…
You know, stuff like that.
Have you been surfing with your kids? Where?
